Harpursville women pleads guilty to assault

On July 28, 2009 in Broome County Court, Dawn M. Gottlieb (40) of Harpursville, New York, pleaded guilty to three counts of Assault in the Second Degree in satisfaction of the indictment filed against her. The charge concerns an incident on May 8, 2008, when Gottlieb became involved in a physical confrontation between two of her family members and three teenagers outside the Harpursville High School. Gottlieb admitted to stabbing each of the teenagers with a pocket knife.

The defendant will be sentenced on September 25, 2009 to concurrent state prison terms of two years and three years post-release supervision. She remains released in her own recognizance pending sentencing.

The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Peter N. DeLucia.
