A man is in the hospital after getting hit by a train.
It happened around 11 this morning, near the Southside High School, close to the Elmira/Town of Southport border.
The Chemung County Sheriff's Office says 25 year old Joshua Clemens of Elmira was sitting on the tracks.
When the train sounded the alarm, Clemens didn't move.
He was hit and then dragged about 300 feet before the train stopped.
Crews were able to free Clemens.
He is being treated at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
The incident is still under investigation at this time.
