A Broome County Grand Jury handed an indictment, charging William E. Kenyon (48) of Johnson City, New York with Murder in the Second Degree and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. The indictment alleges that on June 27, 2009 at a residence at 85 Floral Avenue in Johnson City, Kenyon intentionally caused the death of Kelly Wescott (46) by asphyxiation.
Senior Assistant District Attorney Torrance L. Schmitz is handling the prosecution of the indictment.
An indictment is merely an accusation and is not evidence of guilt. As with every defendant in a criminal case, Kenyon is presumed innocent unless and until he enters a plea of guilty or is proven guilty at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
