Boil Water Order Lifted In Town of Chenango

The Town of Chenango says its water is okay to drink, after a water main break Friday.

Hundreds of customers were told to boil their water after the break.

The water main burst Thursday at the intersection of Mary Drive and Maplewood.

Workers said cold weather was to blame.

Water was turned off to some 350 homes in the area between Airport and River Roads while crews fixed the pipe.

Water is flowing again, and the Town says the boil water order was lifted this afternoon.

The Town tested the water to make sure it was safe.
