In the morning of June 23, 2009 the Elmira Police Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to 710 Johnson St for an unresponsive infant. Upon arrival, EMS and police found two month old male, Kayden L. Skinkle deceased.
An investigation into the death of Kayden L. Skinkle was initiated and conducted by the Elmira Police Department, Chemung County Medical Examiners Office, Chemung County CPS/Children’s Advocate Center and the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office.
As a result of the investigation and Chemung County Grand Jury action, the infant’s mother, Samantha L. Skinkle, has been arrested for causing the death of Kayden L Skinkle.
Samantha L. Skinkle is charged with Criminal Negligent Homicide, a class E Felony.
Samantha L. Skinkle was arraigned before Honorable Judge Hayden in Chemung County Court and is being held in the Chemung County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
