Bones Linked to Missing Teen

He's been gone for more than 20 years.

Now D-N-A tests link bones to a missing teenager from Barton.

Eli Vanderpool Junior disappeared after leaving a party in Smithboro Pennsylvania.

That was back in 1985.

Just a year and a half ago, leg bones were found by a canoeist, along the Susquehanna River near Wysox.

Patricia Vanderpool says recent tests link those bones to her missing son.

It's still unknown how the 17-year-old ended up in the river, and if foul play was involved.

His mother says Eli can now get a proper burial, once his family gets back the remains.

Tioga County detectives will meet with Pennsylvania police in the coming weeks to discuss evidence in the case.
