First, star basketball player Emmanuel "Tiki" Mayben was kicked off the Binghamton University Basketball team.
Then, 5 more players get the boot.
Action News caught up with students on the Vestal Campus to get their reaction to the recent news.
"By far there best players were Tiki Mayben, Malik Alvin and DJ Rivera and they are all not going to play this year. And that's just so disappointing because they had so much potential and they were probably going to go back to the NCAA tournament and it was going to be really good for the school and the basketball program and the athletic department," said David Solow.
"We really like the games and now one of the best players that we all went to go watch and cheer for is now not on the team," said Valerie Anias.
"It was still fun to watch. School was riding a high with all the good things that were happening but when I heard about all the things that were happening lately, it was kind of just like 'oh'. Almost as if I was just waiting for it to happen eventually. And I know a lot of my friends weren't too surprised either," said Philipp Ross.
The Town of Vestal Court says Tiki Mayben was arrested for possession of marijuana on campus September 13th.
A police report says Mayben was in possession of two small plastic baggies of Marijuana.
On Wednesday, Mayben was arrested in Troy and charged with possessing and selling cocaine.
On Friday, BU released a statement saying Malik Alvin, Corey Chandler, Paul Crosby, David Fine and DJ Rivera were informed that they are no longer with the basketball program.
Coach Kevin Broadus added a statement saying:
"There's only one captain steering this ship and that's me. If any of the young men in our program don't respect the decisions that have been made or the rules we have in place, then they need to move on with their lives."
