Family and friends of both Cal and Michele Harris were in Tioga County Court.

After sentencing, some spoke out.

Action News Reporter Julianne Sweeney has their reaction.

"There's no body, there's no evidence, there's no witness. It's ridiculous." said Cal Harris, Senior.

He believes investigators wrongfully targeted his son.

He does not think Cal Harris, Junior could have killed his wife Michele in September 2001.

Other Harris family members were also visibly upset after sentencing.

"This is typical Tioga County..." said Merry Harris.

Family of both Cal and Michele have endured 8 years of speculation, two trials, two convictions, and now one sentence.

Cal will serve 25 years to life in prison.

Greg Taylor is Michele's brother.

"I'm happy that ya know he's gotten the maximum, but it's just not going to bring Michele back." said Taylor.

Many people in Owego and the surrounding community have been following the case since the beginning.

Friends of both families were in court for sentencing.

"It's sad on either side. I mean his kids, what a tremendous loss, that they lost their parents, both of them." said Jackie Casella of Owego.

The Harris' have 4 children.

They're currently in the custody of family, but no one would not comment on future plans for the Harris children.

The first conviction of Cal Harris was thrown out after a new witness stepped forward.

The couple was in divorce proceedings at the time of Michele's disappearance.

Again, her body has never been found.
