State Police say a 12-year old boy shot and killed his 8-year old brother in Deposit.
It happened at about 5:20 Saturday evening at 479 Neale Road.
State Police received a 9-1-1 call reporting an accidental shooting at the home.
The 8-year old was treated at the scene then flown to Wilson Hospital in Johnson city where he was pronounced dead.
Troopers say the boys were home alone at the time of the shooting.
They say the 12-year old used a rifle which was in the home, and fired one round which struck his brother.
The 12-year old was arrested as a juvenile delinquent for conduct that would constitute the crime of Murder in the second degree.
The investigation is ongoing.
