There is certainly plenty to celebrate on campus.
Including a silver milestone at the Anderson Center.
Action News Reporter Leigh Dana takes us inside the performing arts facility.
Where the Paul Taylor Dance Company is rehearsing for the center's 25th anniversary.
Jumps and turns, graceful, poetic movement on stage to the backstage hands moving props and the musicians striking a cord.
"The lights rarely come down in this facility," says Anderson Center's Producer and Director, Floyd Herzog.
"Oh, it's beautiful. I don't know when we've been in such a nice theater. it's so well equipped. Acoustics are great," says Paul Taylor with the Paul Taylor Dance Company.
These features are just some of the reasons why The Anderson Center's played host to world class artists from more than 25 countries and 5 continents.
Since officially opening in 1986, its brought an international presence to Binghamton University and the Southern Tier community.
And now the world renowned Paul Taylor Dance Company will be the centerpiece for its silver celebration.
"And for this very special occasion we wanted a very special, very special dance company. And so we went to the very top," says Herzog.
More than 4,000 companies have performed at the Anderson Center in the last 25 years. And each year, roughly 100 thousand people sit in these seats to watch the performances.
Over the years, audiences have been graced with performances ranging from ballet to symphony concerts.
"There's an intricate relationship between music and dance and we should never lose sight of that. It's a living, breathing relationship," says BU Department of Music Chairman, Timothy Perry.
A relationship that's kept this theater alive for a quarter of a century....
With many more years to come.
