Cleaning Up After Blast Of April Snow

People spent the day cleaning up from Mother Nature's latest blast of snow.

It put some people in a good mood when they got up Monday morning.

"I was excited because there was a blanket of snow on the ground. Turned on the TV, saw that school was closed and went back to bed," says Johnathan Yurecka of Johnson City.

For others, the latest snow fall had them dreaming of someplace else.

"I thought I was in Florida, thought all this white, thought I was in Florida or the Bahamas with all this sand, but guess what...it's cold, windy. It's pretty tough out here," says Billy Himko of Johnson City.

Pretty tough to clean up.

Some people tried using snow blowers, but found they weren't much help.

"It's just heavy and wet, a lot of moisture in it. Just a little, ya know, pain in the back," says Dennis Leipold of Binghamton.

Miriam Rodriguez had to brush that snow off her car.

She wishes she had taken advantage of the milder before the storm moved in.

"I'm regretting it. Now, I have to sit home in this nasty weather, not able to do anything," says Rodriguez.

Some people we spoke with Monday point to the warm winter we had this year.

They say this is our payback for the weather we had in December and January.

Other people we spoke with aren't surprised by the late season snow fall.

They say they've been dealing with spring snow storms in this area for years.
