We caught up with some Binghamton University students in Vestal, to get their reaction.

Some couldn't believe the news.

Others, sad to say, weren't all that surprised.

"Here it's very open and anyone could just get in, pop into a lecture hall, 400 students and decide to do whatever they want," says student Jonathan Fulop.

"I mean, I'm not really scared. I mean, hopefully it doesn't happen god forbid," says student Regina Shin.

"It just makes me really sad that it has to happen on a university. When you think of university's you think of intellectual capitol. You don't think that it would happen there," says student Kate Winchell.

"It really shocked me. You know it's like, you know anybody with enough money to get a pistol can just walk into a room and start killing people. And it really makes you think, you know. Makes you look around and go, who's in a bad mood today," says student Jason Zwick.

All the BU Students we spoke to said they felt safe at the campus in Vestal.

They're more worried that these types of shootings, are becoming more and more common in our society.
