The plant in the Town of Union is adding 125 jobs.
Those positions were moved from a facility BAE closed in California.
It's a division that designs electronics for military aircraft.
New York State's economic development agency worked with BAE to
bring the jobs to the Southern Tier.
"I suspect that in the weeks, months and the years ahead. Many more companies many more corporations around the world will realize that upstate New York has something going for it," says Dan Gunderson of Empire State Development.
BAE is investing more than 2 million dollars in training, and plant renovations.
New York is making grants and tax breaks available.
The company currently employs more than 13 hundred people locally.
The new jobs should be added by summer 2008.
