Police arrested 21 year old David Sanchez today, at a home on Beethoven Street.

He's been charged with 2nd Degree Murder.

Investigators say Sanchez shot and killed 23 year old Don Johnson at about 11:30 Wednesday night.

It happened here in front of 25 Stuyvesant Street.

Johnson is believed to be from New York City.

Police say the two men, who probably didn't know each other, got into an argument.

Sanchez then fired 2 shots.

One hit Johnson, in the chest, which killed him.

A motive has still not been determined.

"I think it's safe to assume there is drug activity involved, which was probably the reason these two encountered each other," says Capt. Alex Minor of the Binghamton Police.

Sanchez is now in City lockup and will be arraigned in City court Friday.

Minor wouldn't say exactly what led them to Sanchez.

Police are still searching for the murder weapon.

This is the City's second murder this year.
