37 year old Matthew Arbas of Laurens is charged with 19 felony counts.

Including Forgery, Possession of Forged Instruments, Grand Larceny and Falsifying Business Records.

Police say Matthew impersonated his father Herman Arbas, forging his name and taking money from his bank and life insurance accounts.

Herman Arbas, who lived at this farm with Matthew in Laurens, hasn't been seen since 2000.

But wasn't reported missing by family members until May 2005.

Police are still searching for him.

Matthew was arraigned in Town of Oneonta Court and sent to Otsego County Jail without bail.

He's also awaiting sentencing for kidnapping and assaulting a Navy fighter pilot in 2005 in Virginia Beach.
