County Clerk Richard R. Blythe announced today that the County Clerk’s office has scheduled three Passport Fairs.

“We’ve had a tremendous response to our Passport Fairs”, said County Clerk Blythe. “We’re trying to make it as easy as possible for Broome County residents to obtain a passport. We also need to let people know that we have been notified by the US Department of State that due to the unprecedented number of applications being processed, it may take up to 10 weeks to receive their passport, and 4-5 weeks to receive an expedited passport. We’ve been urging everyone to plan ahead, but even more so now”.

Photos will be taken on site and forms will be available for people who may have lost their passport, Change of Name affidavits, and Statements of Consent for issuance of a passport to minor children by non-custodial parents or guardians. Fees set by the US Department of State remain the same, $67 for an adult application, $52 for children 15 and under, and $30 for processing. The Clerk’s Office will also take expedited applications. There is an additional fee of $60 to the US Department of State and $30 for postage. Cash and checks can be accepted for payment, no credit cards off site. Applicants need to bring their original birth certificate with a raised or embossed seal and a photo ID.

Scheduled Passport Fair dates and locations are:

June 12 – 4:00 to 6:00, Town of Sanford Town Hall, 91 Second Street, Deposit

June 14 – 11:00 to 2:00, Town of Dickinson Town Hall, 531 Old Front Street, Binghamton

June 15 – 3:00 to 6:00, Town of Colesville Town Hall, 780 Welton Street, Harpursville
