Binghamton police need your help to find the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run accident.

Detectives say it happened near 161 Main Street around 2:40 Sunday morning.

47-year-old Christopher Lewis was hit by a car while crossing Main Street.

He was not in a crosswalk.

Police believe this is the vehicle that hit Lewis.

It was taken from the police department's surveillance camera on Main Street.

Lewis had suffered multiple injuries and was found lying on the curb in front of Piccolo's Restaurant.

He was taken to Wilson Hospital, where he later died.

Police believe the driver was traveling east on Main Street, and say the vehicle likely has damage to the front end and right side.

"It's very important," says BInghamton Police Captain Alex Minor. "We need the public's help on this and I would urge anyone with information to give us a call."

Anyone with information is asked to call Binghamton Detectives at 772 - 7080.
