Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A local organization brings Mardi Gras to New York with its annual Fat Tuesday celebration.

The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce held its annual Mardi Gras Mixer Tuesday night.

More than 200 people gathered at the Terra Cotta in downtown Binghamton.

The event was full of colorful masks and beads as people dressed for the festivities.

It was also an opportunity for members to network with businesses and colleagues.

"We did a survey of our members and we asked them what is the most important reason why you're a member of the chamber, believe it or not networking was number one. So what greater opportunity to do that then tonight?" said Lou Santoni, Chamber President.

Local venders provided food, music and the entertainment for the event.

Fat Tuesday refers to the last night of eating rich, fatty foods before fasting for Lent begins.
