The first Dick's Sporting Goods Open is now in the books.

And organizers are calling the tournament a huge success, after drawing big crowds all weekend.

Tournament coordinator John Karedes says thousands of people flocked to En-Joie golf course for the event.

The final numbers aren't in, but Karedes says attendance was right on par with past B-C Open tournaments.

He says the familiar pro names seemed to help.

"Fans are lining each fairway and spread out over the entire golf course as their watching these groups that they know they don't have to follow a specific group because they know them all," Karedes said.

Karedes says organizers are working to make the Dick's Open an annual event at En-Joie.

The date is already set for next year.

It will be held June 30th through July 6th, with a fireworks show after the first round on July 4th.
