Man Accused of Robbery Pleas In Broome County Court

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Anthony W. Orr age 28 of New York City pleaded guilty as a Second Felony Offender to Robbery in the Second Degree in satisfaction of the indictment filed against him.

The charge concerned an incident on August 18, 2009 in the Village of Johnson City when the defendant and his co-defendant Jimmy R. Khan (22) of Binghamton, NY forcible stole a 2006 Nissan Altima from Calvin Palmer (75) of Johnson City. The defendant was found in possession the car the following day when he reported to his parole officer in New York City.

Orr will be sentenced on June 2, 2010 to a state prison term of eight years and five years post-release supervision. Orr was previously convicted in Supreme Court, Bronx County in 2006 of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree in 2001 of Attempted Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

On September 17, 2009, Khan pleaded guilty as a Second Felony Offender to Robbery in the Second Degree and was sentenced on January 6, 2010 to a state prison term of seven years and five years post-release supervision. Khan had previously been convicted in Broome County Court in February 2006 of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and in December 2006 of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Assistant District Attorney Joann Rose Parry.
