28 year old Timothy Hopkins of Owego, is charged with criminally negligent homicide, drunk driving, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Village police say Hopkins was driving a pickup on Main street back on the night of June 21st.

They say his driving caused a passenger in the back of the pickup to be thrown out.

36 year old Joseph Snyder hit his head on the pavement and later died.

Police say Hopkins drove away.

Snyder is originally from Waverly, but was living in South Carolina.

Hopkins is now in the Tioga County Jail on 25 hundred dollars bail.
