Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton Contractor Gary Rittenberg is asking the city to allow the Stone Opera House on Chenango Street to become student housing.
It would feature multiple roooms, with a common kitchen and common bathrooms.
The Opera house last closed its doors in 1978, after it had become the Riviera movie theatre for several years.
The Building was built in 1892, and was named an endangered place by the Preservation League of New york for 2010.
