City Council passed a resolution Monday night at its regular meeting to move the walk from its current location on Washington Street to the Chenango River Walk.

The stars are currently right outside the Metro Center in downtown Binghamton.

The resolution also states a feasibility study should be done to look at the possibility of converting the area where the stars are now into a parking area.

That study must be done by November 2007.

Council president, Pat Russo, says the parking would be metered parking.

It would help people trying to shop at downtown businesses, plus the stars would get more attention than they receive now.

"I don't think anyone sees them and they're in deplorable condition so lets put them where people can walk down the river walk which was the purpose of having it and look at the walk of fame," says Russo.
