The Sheriff's Office says it stems from an investigation in the Village of Savona.

It says 2 men killed a 10 year old cocker spaniel for no justifiable reason in a sadistic manner.

The dog was sacrificed and dismembered, then disposed of in a vacant lot behind one of the men's homes.

Investigators recovered part of the dog's body, which was sent to a clinic for an autopsy.

25 year old Jeremy James of Bath and 25 year old Jake Hoffman of Hornell are both charged with Felony Aggravated Animal Cruelty.

They're also charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Minor, for giving alcohol to people under 21 the night of the incident.

Both men were arraigned and sent to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of 10 thousand dollars bail.
