"It just doesn't make sense. It's just crazy."
That feeling's shared among many that knew the Colegrove family.
Police tape now surrounds the family's home here on Kirk Drive in Tuscarora Township.
Joe, Marlene and their son Michael, were all found dead around 5 Wednesday evening.
The Colegrove's were a fixture in nearby Laceyville.
A makeshift memorial rests in front of the barber shop Joe owned.
"Joe has been in Laceyville all his life. He's the barber and when you cut every body's hair you know everybody," says Jerry Burke of Auburn.
A wreath also sits outside the Laceyville Fire Department where Joe served as chief for nearly 20 years.
His wife, Marlene, was a bus driver for the Wyalusing School District.
People say she was also well liked.
"It's just such a small town this is a shock. You don't think of things like this happening up here and Joe was every body's friend," says Mayr Tyler of Laceyville.
State Police say it was a friend who went to check on the family, and found all 3 shot to death.
Investigators are searching the area for evidence, and asking anyone with information to call.
"I'm scared not knowing what happened. Nobody locks their doors around here. So it's just like make sure the kids are ok and lock the doors and stay inside until we see what happens," says Cheri Butler of Laceyville.
Some people like Butler say they will lock their doors tonight.
State Police have not said anything about when they think the Colgroves were shot or if there is a suspect or suspects.
The Bradford County Coroner will conduct the autopsies Friday.
The Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to 2 thousand dollars for information leading to an arrest in the case.
