Former Bearcat Basketball Player Indicted

Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Former Binghamton University basketball player involved in the controversy over player behavior is facing criminal charges.

A Broome County grand jury indicted Derrick "DJ" Rivera on charges of grand larceny, petit larceny and 2 counts of criminal possession of stolen property.

Prosecutors say Rivera stole a debit card belonging to student Ziena Antonios on September 13, 2009.

Investigators say on that day he used it to buy clothing and a TV set at Wal-Mart in Vestal.

Also, to make a purchase at Manley's Mighty Mart on the Vestal Parkway.
Rivera appeared in court this afternoon and plead not guilty.
