BU spokesman Ryan Yarosh has confirmed to Action News that LeChase Construction has overseen several projects at the school.
The Mountainview, University Downtown Center and the Innovation Technology Complex were all built by LeChase and Yarosh says that BU and LeChase have had "a good working relationship."
LeChase did offer a brief statement today which said that the prayers and thoughts of the company went out to those who were injured, and that the site has been shut down while the investigation in to the cause of the accident continues.
On its website, LeChase says it is firmly committed to maintaining the safest possible jobsites.
LeChase has several offices and projects in New York State and North Carolina. The company specializes in commercial construction -- specifically -- buildings for higher education and healthcare.
As for today's scaffold collapse, we reached out to project manager Don McManus, but he did not respond to our request for an interview.
LeChase has been based in Rochester since 1944 and has been run by LeChase family members ever since. Raymond Wayne LeChase assumed the role of Chairman and CEO from his father, who founded the company. Today, he serves as the company chairman.
