Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Dinosaurs are invading Binghamton this summer and for a good cause.

22 sculptures like this one are going up all over downtown this week for a project called Hart of BC.

The sculptures are based on Johnny Hart's famous cartoon characters, BC, a caveman and Gronk, a dinosaur.

The creations were designed by local artists and sponsored by local businesses.

Money raised from the sponsorships benefits local charities.

Two of the dinosaurs were designed by students like 19 year old Alana Gregory's "Hart of Music" dinosaur.

"Music has been a big part of my life. I believe music can get you through anything. Music just helps people and I figured that maybe music may be able to help Broome County a little more," said Gregory, Binghamton.

The dinosaurs will stay up at their locations until fall then go in the gallery in Binghamton's City Hall.

Several will be auctioned off in early 2011.
