Fleming Arraigned for Arson

Elmira, NY (WBNG Binghamton) An Elmira woman is arraigned with additional arson charges.

According to the Chemung County Sheriff's Office, 52-year old Sherry Fleming was charged with four counts of Arson in the third degree, one count of Arson in the fifth degree, and one count of Attempted Arson in the third degree.

Fleming is responsible for a string of fires that happened in the Town of Southport on Cedar and Spruce Streets, which happened during the spring, summer and fall of 2009.

She is also behind two small trash can and receptacle fires that happened in that neighborhood, as well as a truck fire in May 2010.

Fleming is in the Chemung County Jail on related charges.

Her bail is continued at 50-thousand dollars cash and a 100-thousand dollar property bond.
