Explore & More is a free program series that gives you a little extra something for your weekend visits! Create beautiful art to take home, learn how to conduct a fun household experiment and enjoy fun facts and lessons about something new. Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., Sundays at 3 p.m. only. Free with admission.

Sept. 8 & 9 – Closed for Museum Spruce Up!

Sept. 15 & 16 – We’re all finished painting—now it’s your turn! Make a bubble paint masterpiece.

Sept. 22 & 23 – Fall is here, and few things are prettier than autumn leaves. Learn why the leaves change colors and make a fun fall leaf coaster to take home.

Sept. 29 & 30 – Sept. 30 is National Mulled Cider Day! Learn about mulling spices and drink some cider.

Oct. 6 & 7 – Challenge yourself with our brainteasers and puzzles mental obstacle course!

Oct. 13 & 14 – October is National Fire Safety Month. Practice “Stop, Drop & Roll” and learn about fire safety.

Oct. 20 & 21 – Halloween is right around the corner! Decorate a bag for trick-or-treating and learn some trick-or-treating safety tips.

Oct. 27 & 28 – Something spooky is happening at the Discovery Center—it’s time for our Trick-or-Treat Spooktacular all day Saturday! Join us Sunday to make recycled art as we get creative with Saturday’s leftovers.

Nov. 3 & 4 – In honor of Bookfest, join us for a story writing workshop and make your own book to take home.

Nov. 10 & 11 – Make a simple paper basket inspired by Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) designs. Don’t forget to join us on Monday, Nov. 12 for our American Indian Heritage celebration!

Nov. 17 & 18 – What would Thanksgiving dinner be without rolls? Learn about yeast and observe a cool science trick.

Nov. 24 & 25 – Bring your holiday cheer and have fun with gingerbread math!
