Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos), celebrated between October 31st and November 2nd, is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The Mexican holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to honor the spirit of loved ones who have passed. Origins of the celebration can be traced back hundreds of years to an Aztec festival dedicated to the goddess Mictecacihuatl.

Spend an evening with The DC as we take a closer look at this colorful and surprisingly joyous holiday with ethnic crafts, music and food! The evening will include performances by Broome Community College's international scholarship students from Mexico, Central and Latin America with dance and authentic Mexican costume, a DJ dance party, Mexican crafting and a family dinner!

Cost for dinner, museum play and all activities is ONLY $5 per person. Under 2 free.

Registration required. To register, please call (607) 773-8661 x201 or stop by the Discovery Center Front Desk today. Hurry, registration is filling up fast!
