back at the Schorr Stage with Puzzled Players!

Johnson City – As part of their new Laugh Out Loud Comedy Series, The Goodwill Theatre will present Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company Saturday, November 17th at 7:00pm. The Goodwill Theatre’s 2012-2013 Laugh Out Loud Series is underwritten by the Schorr Family.

The UCB Theatre is the greatest producer of comedic talent in America today and the Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company brings the very best of their theatres in NYC and LA directly to the Schorr Stage. It’s your chance to see stars of today and tomorrow live on stage!

The 90 minute show consists of two hilarious halves of the freshest long-form improv the nation has to offer. The UCB TourCo cast is hand-picked from the best improv comedians in New York City and Los Angeles - these performers are the "next wave" of comedy superstars from the theatre that brought you Amy Poehler, Horatio Sanz, Rob Corddry (The Daily Show), Ed Helms (The Daily Show, The Office), Rob Riggle (SNL, Daily Show), Paul Scheer & Rob Huebel (Best Week Ever), and many many more. The performance on Saturday, November 17 will feature the UCB TourCo. comedic talents of Don Fanelli, Karin Hammerberg, Shannon O'Neill and D'Arcy Erokan.

Local Improv group, The Puzzled Players featuring special guest, Teddy Myers, now performing in Boston, will be the opening act for the UCB Touring Company show. Formed in 2003, The Puzzled Players have their own stage presence and love for making things up on the spot in the wild variety of their shows, which include their staple of musical games and audience participation. The participating Puzzled Players are: John Carey, Joe Falank, Mitch Tiffany, Tara Denucci, Rick Lucas, Adara Alston, Dave Adams, Laura Ricciuti, Mary Jane Sager, Teddy Myers and Jenna Koger.

“We are very excited to have comedians of this caliber in our Laugh Out Loud Series this season,” says CEO Naima Kradjian. “The UCB Touring Company are the best in the business. We have them scheduled for one more show in 2012. This will be the first time we feature The Puzzled Players who have had local audiences giggling for years. We are also excited to offer an improvisation comedy workshop with the UCB TourCo cast on November 17th before the show.” adds Kradjian.

The Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company will be all offer an Improv Workshop from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on November 17, the day of their performance at the Schorr Stage. Students ages 16 and up will learn the fundamentals of long-form improvisation including: agreement, active listening, playing characters, playing truthfully and to the top of your intelligence, and group mind. Tickets are $45 and include admission to the 7 p.m. performance. Admission to the workshop is limited, so please call the box office at (607) 772-2404 ext. 301 to participate.

The Schorr Family Firehouse Stage, located at 46-48 Willow Street in Johnson City, accepts cash, checks and all major credit cards. Tickets for the entire Laugh Out Loud Comedy Series can be purchased online. Doors open approximately one hour before show time. General Seating is based on a first-come; first-served policy. Refreshments will be available for sale.

The Schorr Family Firehouse Stage is the first performance venue of the Goodwill Theatre Performing Arts Complex & Professional Training Facility. It is located on the corner of Corliss Avenue and Willow Street in Johnson City. Patrons are advised to enter the facility through the parking lot on Corliss Avenue. Parking is available in a small lot at the theatre, and a new lot along the side of the building, on-street, and in various Village municipal lots within two blocks of the theatre.
