Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company returns to the Schorr Stage with the Binghamton Crosbys!
Johnson City – The Goodwill Theatre is bringing back the Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company Friday, December 7th at 7 p.m. for their final 2012 performance. The Goodwill Theatre’s 2012-2013 Laugh Out Loud Series is underwritten by the Schorr Family.
The UCB Theatre is the greatest producer of comedic talent in America today and the Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company brings the very best comedians from their theatres in NYC and LA directly to the Schorr Stage. It’s your chance to see stars of today and tomorrow live on stage!
“When 'SNL' and 'The Daily Show' need comics, they turn to the Upright Citizens Brigade.” -
New York Post
“The UCB Theater is doing the type of manic, original, inventive stuff I'm always interested in.” - Conan O'Brien
"Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company have adapted and mastered the techniques of jazz-riff improvisation... we are treated to smart interconnections of words and ideas, and the laughs that come are deeper and more penetrating than from a sitcom rim shot." - LA Weekly
The 90 minute show consists of two hilarious halves of the freshest long-form improv the nation has to offer. The UCB TourCo cast is the "next wave" of comedy superstars from the theatre that brought you Amy Poehler, Horatio Sanz, Rob Corddry (The Daily Show), Ed Helms (The Daily Show, The Office), Rob Riggle (SNL, Daily Show), Paul Scheer & Rob Huebel (Best Week Ever), and many many more.
Cast credits include: Late Night with Conan O'Brien, MadTV, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report, MadTV, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Chappelle’s Show, Robot Chicken, Adult Swim, The Showbiz Show with David Spade, MTV's Boiling Points, VH1's Best Week Ever to name a few.
The performance on Friday, December 7th will feature the comedic talents of Dru Johnston, Zack Willis, Ben Rameaka and John Frusciante.
Dru Johnston grew up in the mean streets of Sammamish, WA just outside of Seattle. After graduating from Whitman College in Walla Walla he moved out to NY, lived in Harlem, but then decided he liked Brooklyn better. He has studied improv under such luminaries as Joe Wengert, James Eason, Shannon O'Neill, Anthony King, Michael Delaney, Doug Moe and Armando Diaz. In a recent review of his comedy Blog, The NY Post deems him the "Tolstoy of short attention spans."
Zack Willis graduated from Emerson College in 2008 and has been taking classes at UCB since 2009. He has studied under the likes of Kevin Hines, Brandon Gardner, Becky Drysdale, Gavin Speiller, Shannon O'Neil, Will Hines, Doug Moe, Anthony King, Porter Mason, and one time Amy Poehler subbed one of his classes. He also writes and performs sketch comedy with Cognac Live Radio Orchestra. He spends much of his week looking forward to performing with his team, The Regulars.
Ben Rameaka is an improviser, actor and voice over artist. He has an MFA from the Actor's Studio program at the New School. He has been in many UCB productions including KILLGORE, Greatest Concert Ever, and the hit show "Waiting For Obama: A Night At The Hall Of Presidents" which went to the San Francisco Sketchfest. He performs on the UCB weekend team Airwolf every Saturday night at the UCB East and he's also a member of the UCB TourCo. He has been the voice of Bullfrog Suntan Lotion, Trojan Condoms, and Powermat and starred in the ESPN film "Silly Little Game."
John Frusciante is a writer, improviser, and director who has been at UCBT since 1999, and he is proud to serve as the theatre's Artistic Associate. He can currently be seen every Saturday night at UCB East in the improvised show AIRWOLF: Let's Go Back To Your Place. He has also performed in ASSSSCAT 3000, HAROLD NIGHT, and with the UCB Touring Company where he regularly performs for college students all across the country. In 2011 he was the host of INDMUSIC's “HiFive”, a weekly webseries rounding up the best music videos on YouTube.
The Binghamton Crosbys will be the opening act for the December 7th UCB Touring Company show. The Crosbys were founded in 1982-83 and remain the only all-male a cappella singing group at Binghamton University. The Crosbys are four-time national championship finalists and won the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) in 2003. They are the first independent music club recognized by the university. They have also won many other awards such as Best Album, Best Soloist, Best Arrangement and Best Choreography. The Crosbys include: Tenor 1's: Gavin McClelland, Brandon Seabrook, Justin Vega, Tenor 2's: David Schwartz, Nick Tenore, Pat Regan, Alex Lamparelli, Baritones: Rich Kraus, Matt Maley, Kristopher Siriban, Bobby Holliday, Daniel Fernandez, Bass: Connor Quinn.
“The holidays can bring on stress and general grouchiness so we decided to add a comedy show to our December line up…” says CEO Naima Kradjian. “The Crosbys will add a classy and fun touch to the evening.” she added.
