The NY-511 Continuum of Care is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a panel member to review renewal and new applications for the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Notice of Funding Availability. The NY-511 Continuum of Care is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless people, advocating for permanent solutions to the problems of homelessness and eliminating homelessness in the Southern Tier of New York State. The NY-511 is made up of representatives from five counties, including Broome, Chenango, Otsego, Delaware, and Cortland. The individual selected will serve as one of five multi-County panel members who will be reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) for current and future projects. All rating tools and criteria for the ranking process will be provided to the panel member to assist in the review of applications. The individual selected would be required to disclose any conflicts of interests and/or prior relationships he/she may have with agencies submitting an RFP for review. This is a volunteer position that would require approximately 25-40 hours of time over a span of a week anytime during November to January(excluding holidays), depending on the release of the NOFA. Applicants should have basic knowledge of HUD priorities and homeless services within Broome County.
