Event Description

March 6, 2014 Updated Mar 6, 2014 at 10:55 AM EDT

Trinity Aurora Hranek is our 3rd daughter who was born on Aug. 23, 2013 and we lost her on Oct. 14, 2013. She had Hypoplastic left heart syndrome and Turner Syndrome which is what caused her heart defect... but she ended up with a Yeast Infection and Staff infection after her Open Heart Surgery at 5 days old. Trinity fought hard for 7 weeks and 3 days.
Trinity also has two older sisters, Elizabeth Dimick who is 5, and Breanna Hranek who is 2. Her parents Christopher and Kimberly Hranek met at Family Enrichment Network where Chris was a Bus Driver and Kim was a Bus Monitor. Chris has been unable to work since April of 2012, and Kim has been out of work since June 19, 2013 which was when they got Trinity's diagnosis. They are both struggling to pay normal bills and Kim just returned to work in February. Chris is still awaiting Disability Benefits, for his Fibromyalgia, Anxiety/Depression, Severe Sleep Apnea, Asthma, Degenerative Disk Disorder and Neuropathy, as well as PTSD.

We will be having a Benefit at Sunset Lanes on March 22, 2014 which will help start Trinity's Heart Foundation. We will be supporting Mended Little Hearts of Binghamton and Mended Little Hearts of Greater Rochester along with Compassion Net (a branch of Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield), Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York and other families dealing with Congential Heart Defects. The remaining funds will be used to help Dr. Nelson at the MAYO Clinic in Rochester Minnesota to help find a cure for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome Support.

If it wasn't for Kathie Stepski and Amy Root from our Binghamton Mended Little Hearts group we never would have known about Compassion Net. Which paid for our meals, mileage reimbursement, Counseling, Weekly Massages, and Grief Counseling after we lost our Angel Trinity Aurora Hranek.

Thank you Amy for starting the local chapter, and we look forward to getting our Foundation formed soon. We are grateful to all of the local businesses that have donated items and gift certificates for raffles for our Benefit.
