Join us for ‘A New Age for New York’ seminar, presented by JASA’s NextAct program, focusing on advocacy and volunteering in new landscapes. Next Act programs are specifically designed for adults 55+ who are looking for interesting and fun ways to be engaged, learn, meet peers, and make an impact in their communities. This enlightening seminar will allow adults to discover the many ways in which New York is evolving and how to keep up with public changes such as the evolution of New York’s transportation systems, preparations for future emergencies, how to establish a support network and how to capture important health information and supplies.
The three stage seminar, starting off with registration and breakfast will be followed by two workshop blocks. In each block there is a choice between several informative workshops, featuring inspiring guest speakers such as Caitlyn Smith, Strategic Assistance Coordinator of New York Academy of Medicine and Kathryn Zickuhr, Research Associate at Pew Research Center. JASA’s CEO, Karhryn Hanslanger, the Manhattan Borough President, Gale Brewer and the Deputy Commissioner Caryn Resnick will also be there to welcome you.
