Ever wonder how science is used to solve crimes? Do you want to learn about how scientists protect plants and animals from becoming endangered species? Calling all scientists!! Put on your thinking caps and join us as we combine two popular topics—using forensic science for crime scene investigations and studying wildlife issues. Investigating a wildlife crime in the classroom allows students to solve cases in the same way as the CSI heroes on TV. They’ll then put that knowledge to use in the lab using different forensic science techniques for e.g. fingerprinting, blood typing and DNA analysis. Snack included. Limited to 10 participants. This program for ages 10 – 14 will take place at APEC at 228-06 Northern Blvd. in Douglaston on July 9, July 16 and July 23 from 10:00AM – 12:30PM and is $78 per child. This is a multi-session program. You must register for the full program.
