Lowering statistics, students pledge to put phones away
Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Texting while driving takes a driver's eyes from the road for an average of 4.6 seconds, according to the U.S. government's website distraction.gov. At 55 mph, that's driving the length of a football field blind. On Monday, Vestal students asked others to take the pledge to put their phones away in the car.
