July 20, 2010 Updated Jul 20, 2010 at 3:32 PM EDT

In this week's Crime Stoppers report, Binghamton police are searching for a man suspected of stealing a woman's purse.

It happened on February 10th, around 10:30 am at the Family Dollar Store on Court Street in Binghamton.

Police say a woman left her purse unattended.

Store surveillance cameras caught a man entering the store.

He then took the woman's purse, put it in a bag and left.

"With the increasing number of cameras, public cameras and cameras in businesses, we hope that people think twice before they steal somebody's property in a public place," says Sgt. Michael Whalen of the Binghamton Police.

The suspect appears to be a white male, wearing a Carhart style jacket, jeans, work boots, a black wool cap and sunglasses.

If you have any information on the suspect or were at the Family Dollar that day, you are asked to call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 1-866-304-TIPS.

A reward of up to a thousand dollars is offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case.
