(WBNG Binghamton, NY) On the evening of July 25th, 2 suspicious persons entered the
Manley's Mighty Mart on Main St. In Binghamton.
They each made a small purchase and then paid for their items with
counterfeit 10 dollar bills.
Binghamton police say they are seeing more and more counterfeit
bills in the area.
They warn area clerks to be careful if they get one.
"If they suspect someone is passing a counterfeit bill by all means
give us a call. Do not stop them, do not try and apprehend them by
yourself. Give us a call and keep the bill if you can and we'll handle it",
says Sgt Becky Sutliff of the Binghamton Crime Stoppers division.
The first suspect appears to be a white male, 40 years old, 5 feet 10
inches tall with short hair and glasses.
The second suspect is described as a white male in his 20's, 5 feet
11 inches tall and was wearing a basketball jersey over a white t-shirt
and a baseball hat.
Police ask if you have any information to contact the Binghamton
Crime Stoppers Anonymous tip line.
That number is 1-866-304-TIPS.
A reward of up to one thousand dollars is offered for any
information that leads to an arrest.
