Today's world is full of technology.

And teenagers are masters of everything from I-pods to facebook, to Instant Messenger.

One teacher hopes she can use that technology to help them master English.

Meet Mrs. Kelli Krieger, our Educator of the Week.

Mrs. Kelli Krieger teaches English at Union-Endicott High School.

She was shocked to find out one of her students nominated her for Educator of the week.

"I've had Mrs. Krieger for 4 years and I like, I never really liked English that much before but when I joined her class in 9th grade it was like totally different I don't know, I actually started like enjoying coming to English class once in a while," says student Matt Ruggieri, who nominated Krieger.

Matt says Mrs. Krieger understands the kids she teaches.

She uses technology to relate.

"I kind of try to co-op all the things that the kids like already, like facebook and pod-casting, I-pods, anything like that," says Krieger.

And her students think that's pretty cool.

"Most teachers you know they say 'put your I-pods away' and stuff. And she tells you to take them out," says Elise Caroompas of UE High School.

Mrs. Krieger says writing requires plenty of attention, her students are thankful for the one-on-one opportunities

And that one-on-one attention doesn't end with the classroom.

This teacher has an AOL screen name, so her students can ask her questions about homework assignments whenever they need help.

"It's just really easy to access her, a lot harder then some of the other teachers here, because some of them you have to come in at 7:30 in the morning, her I can see her at 10 o'clock at night if I needed to," says Ruggieri.

No matter what time of day, Mrs. Krieger says it's all about the kids.

"They just make it all worth it and it's so wonderful to see them change and learn and grow," says Krieger.

It's clear she has the ability to change and grow with the times.
