Its hard to find new ways to keep kids attention these days.

But one teacher at Bainbridge-Guilford Middle School isn't afraid to show her goofy side.

Meet our educator of the week.

Mrs. Sarah Palmer teaches Spanish at Bainbridge-Guilford Middle School.

She was nominated by not one, not two but four of her students.

Zack Sherman came up with the idea.

"She's goofy at times but she's really cool," says Sherman.

Makenzie, Robert and Paul agree, Mrs. Palmer knows how to have fun.

"She's nice and funny," says Robert Holden.

"Senora Palmer is such great fun like she does songs with us that get stuck in our head," says Makenzie Cuozzo.

And those songs really get the classroom engaged.

This one is about the date...

Another teaches the days of the week.

Both are working...
"I like to sing and dance so you know if the kids can learn Spanish through singing and dancing I'll get up there and I'll sing and I'll dance and we have a good time and the kids come away learning a little bit more Spanish each day," says Palmer.

And her students all say she takes extra time in and out of the classroom to make sure they understand everything she teaches.

"She doesn't like leave you there to do your homework without her helping you, she'll just help, she'll help you the whole time in it, if you're like real stuck or have back work you have to do," says Paul Ryan.

Mrs. Palmer just wants to make sure her kids understand everything and aren't lost in class.

She does have one personal goal.

"To make the students well-rounded individuals and they need to understand that there are other people in the world. And they need to understand that there is more life outside of Bainbridge, outside of New York outside of the United States and if I can make even a handful of kids understand that then I feel like I've done my job," says Palmer.

Mrs. Sarah Palmer has gone above and beyond her job.
