Sometimes you just need a do-over.
A chance to erase something you said, or did... Or in this case a bad grade.
One Spanish teacher at Chenango Forks Middle School gives his students that second chance.
Here's Action News Reporter Jessica Light with our Educator of the Week.
el Almuerzo. Lunch"
Mr Jason Pepples loves teaching Spanish to his 8th graders at Chenango Forks Middle School.
And his students love the way he teaches.
"he's real nice to everyone, he will talk to you as if you were best friends."

"el Salud. Health. Oh my god you guys are good."
He uses flash cards and plays fun games, because he remembers when he was in school.
"I remember what I liked best and one of the things I liked best was to be active in the classroom not just to sit there and listen to someone the whole time."
That's why two of these kids nominated this teacher for Educator of the Week.
"every time that I see him he always like says Hola or something in Spanish."
"he's really fun and he plays lots of games to help us learn"
And if a student gets a bad grade...Mr. Pepples gives them a second chance.

"For me the most important thing is for the students to know the information and if they come away knowing the information then its ok if it took them a little longer and a couple of chances."
"But he's more then just a good teacher. In their nomination letter, Janelle and Taylor write 'Mr. Pepples has a special friendship with each of his students."

"when you have a teacher that you really don't like, you don't really pay attention at all and you're not really caring about it but when you have a friendship with a teacher you actually want to learn it and pay attention more."

"I think thats the most important thing. You can teach a student anything if you can you know just get in touch with them and make you know a connection with the student."
And that connection is why Mr. Pepples is our Educator of the Week.
