This week we're back in the classroom to learn how one teacher helps disabled students learn.

Mrs. Erin Keehle is our Educator of the Week.

If anyone of Mrs Erin Keehle's 12 students, they'll tell you... their teacher is wonderful.

"She goes around the room and asks how you're doing," says student Broome Tioga BOCES PALS.

Mrs. Keehle is a PALS teacher for the Broome Tioga Boces District.

PALS stands for Preparation for Adult Learning Success.

"I really enjoy getting to know the kids, I , the best part of my job is knowing that I can make the kids happy," says Keehle.

That's her goal, making these kids happy.

And she's doing a great job.

One of them, decided to nominate her for educator of the week.

"She helps us kids out plus she's nice," says student Chris Montgomery.

Mrs. Keehle feels honored.

"It really does touch my heart and it makes me want to keep doing what I do because there are days I think, like am I making a difference?" says Keehle.

oday the kids are learning how to write letters to their families for the holiday.

And they're having fun doing it.

"We kind of have a little party in Mrs. Keehle's class, even though, even though we're learning at the same time," says Keehle.

And she says she's learned a lot from her students.

"The kids, despite all the challenges they face, they always come in with a positive attitude and they're always like 'hi Mrs Keehle, how are you today?' And no matter what is going on in their lives and all the difficulties that they have to deal with everyday, they are always happy," says Keehle.

She is constantly re-evaluating her own attitude as she helps these kids improve their quality of life.

Joseph wishes he could have this teacher, next year too.

"Cuz she's beautiful and a nice teacher," says Joseph.
