Educator of the Week- Heather Conklin

By Jessica Light

Theres a teacher at Deposit Middle School with a great personality.
She makes earth science entertaining for the students
And that makes her our Educator of the Week.
Mrs. Heather Conklin is full of life.
Maybe that's why her science class is so much fun.
"If you have a great attitude, it goes over to the kids and they find that whenever I start off science class, the time goes so fast... And they don't realize they're having fun. Thats the key." says Conklin
Two of her 6th grade students nominated Mrs. Conklin for Educator of the week because they say, she deserves some recognition.
Julie Sessler says "I like her comedy. I think she's really funny and she's really good with the students, making them laugh and making science fun because sometimes its not always fun."
Tiffany Scott says "She does most of the activities in the school and stuff and she's always willing to help out if you need it."
Mrs. Conklin has been teaching for the last 27 years... But she also plays another role in the school.
Coaching field hockey and supervising Student Council.
Sessler says "Kind of makes better relationships for the other students and her so it connects more people together."
And to keep things really interesting in the classroom, Mrs. Conklin likes to bring back souvenirs from her trips, like this blowfish and these shells from the Caribbean.
"I do also present to them things from the outside world. So they actually have some difference experiences with things that they would never probably see." says Conklin.
An energetic teacher that keeps things exciting in the classroom.
Mrs. Heather Conklin is our Educator of the Week.
