There's a class full of 5th graders at Tioga Hills Elementary that thinks it has one of the coolest teachers around.

Meet Mrs. Corinne Schake... our Educator of the Week.

Mrs. Corinne Schake loves to make her 5th grade class smile.

She even dances around to make things fun.

She says "you have to captivate them. I do so many silly things and I have silly songs and they just will sit at a test and they'll be singing the song in their head I'll see them bopping."

And at the end of a long week... Its time to celebrate.

"Friday Friday"

It's not quite Friday yet but the class wanted to show everyone just how cool their Friday song is.

"Thats the way uh huh uh huh we like it."

"She makes school such an awesome place. Its really really cool having a teacher like her. Like all kids will probably want to be her teacher." says Alayna Altmire.

"Mrs. Schake doesn't always just say OK look at the blackboard, that's your teacher that's who you learn from. She just has a great time while she teaches which makes us all have a really fun time. It seems like whenever she's happy, we're happy." says Maureen Mecca.

And that makes one happy 5th grade class.

But on top of a little song and dance lesson, Mrs. Schake teaches real life lessons too.

This past winter the class donated toiletry items to the local food pantry.

Chris Holzhauer says "it made me feel pretty good inside because I knew I was donating to a needy family that didn't have much.

Schake says "We can read about things we can see things on TV but until you really are a part of the process its so much more meaningful and seems so much more alive."

Teaching these kids how important it is to help others...
