Get Fit: Training for the Civilian Military Combine

(WBNG Binghamton) Kristina Martemucci, a personal trainer at Riverwalk Athletic Club, gets Susan Ciaravino ready for the civilian military combine.

The race is coming up in May, and requires a combination of strength and endurance.

The beginning of the event is known as the "pit" where racers are required to complete 5 minutes of military-based exercise programs. These programs include an overhead press, box-jump and a kettle-bell swing. The goal during the "pit" is to do as many repetitions as possible.

After the "pit," racers are required to finish a 4.5 mile obstacle course to complete the race.
