It was a dark day in the very brief history of the BNG Golf bargains tour last week.
The local club pro's have discovered my weakness as I took a bogey on a par 3.
Luckily the folks at the Geneganselet golf course have a remedy, as I look to get back to even on the par 5 5th hole.

We are approaching the turn in the BNG golf bargains tour. Today we are at number five and Gennegantslet. A long par five and Gail Clinton the teaching pro here at Gennegantslet is going to lead us on the way. Boy we have a lot of ground to cover and hopefully very few shots. What do I have to worry about off the tee?
This is kind of a tough par five driving hole because the river is on the left out of bounds and you have a lot of big trees on the right. You really have to fade the ball if you're a right-hander or draw the ball of you're a left-hander.
I can fade... I can definitely do the slice I mean baby fade.
Okay Gail I put on here pretty good but we are in the rough. Is that a concern looking up ahead you said about 240 yards.
About 240 yards I would say it's a concern because you're probably not going to get there out of the rough. Might be a few people here that can do that. Probably what you want to do here with trouble left and right is lay up to a yardage where you're comfortable.
We are going to go for it, we're going to give it a shot. I don't know if it can work but will give it a shot.
Okay I got it here but as you said as we were driving up you have a fun chip here. What do I have to worry about trying to settle this one close for a chance at birdie?
Well it's a short little chip and you don't have much green to work with. You've sort of short sighted yourself. I told you not to go for it but that's all right.
Okay Gail, a pretty good drive, pretty good second shot, a chip relatively close and let's see here and a birdie on the BNG golf bargain tour. You told me not to go for it but I worked out pretty good.
Well those were some nice shots. You did a nice job there everything was good.
That's a tough par five and it's a lot of distance to carry.
