We are making the turn on the BNG golf bargains tour.
On the first 9 holes, I stand at even par, one birdie to go with one bogey.
And it a tough way to start the back 9 this week.
We head to Berkshire in Cortland County to tackle a tough short par-4 at the Knickerbocker Country Club.

This week's stop on the BNG golf bargains tour has us in Cincinatus at the Knickerbocker country club.
Kim Knickerbocker is going to guide our way and looking out, all I see is that big pond staring me in the face. 300 yards, but probably not a real good shot to go for it with a driver here.
" Well, as a rule, the majority of the people that play will lay out to the left. And because the green slants pretty good from right to left."
Well, I see exactly what you are talking about. The pitch of that that Green tells me when I hit this approach shot. It's definitely going to move to the left when it gets up there.
" Yes it definitely will. The best spot I would recommend from this area is the little yellow stake at the end of the rope. Probably 5 feet to the left of that. You will see that ball will definitely take off hard to the left."
Well Kim, that certainly wasn't the best effort with that approach shot. Is there any hope with this green sort of pitched away from me that I can keep this shot on? " well, if you close your eyes and miss hit it. It might end up that way."
Well, you had it exactly right I hit it decent chip shot, I thought, but the pitch of the screen takes it right off. And obviously I have to putt up right back into it and I have to give it a pretty good ride to hope for par.
" Yes. No doubt the secret of this hole is you have to hit the green in 2."
Well, I immediately regret hitting that seven iron off the tee. If I had to do this again I would pull my driver and take my chances. That is a tough hole hitting from about 100 yards away into this pitched green. That is a very tricky approach shot.
" That's a good golf hole. It has a lot of options to it."
