The BNG golf bargains tour continues today here at the links at Hiawatha Landing. We are playing the 18th hole, one of the best finishing holes in the area, the director of golf Bernie Herceg is going to guide our way. Bernie obviously the first thing on this whole big obstacle is that huge water that faces us. What are my options off the tee?
It is a great finishing hole. It's a risk reward type hole. You have plenty of options. If you hit the ball with some carry off the tee. You can carry the water annual have anywhere from a seven iron to a wedge in your hands hitting into the green with a good opportunity for eagle.
Well, Bernie, I got one good off the tee. I'm right on a number staring at the 150 stake. Not too much to worry about here, right?
Well, there is more to worry about, but I'm telling you great tee shot and you took that out of play. That's the risk you took, and hopefully they come through with a reward and putt for three.
There is a pot bunker right in front of the green you want to avoid that. And the other thing you have to be careful of is going over the green. It's a tough chip, coming back.
Bernie not a perfect shot, but I do have a putter in my hand. Going through the fringe that's going to be the hard part with a little bit downhill. What are some of the things I should be worried about with this putt?
Excellent shot there. You kept at left of the flag and to the bunker out of play. You have the fringe involved. So you're really focusing on your speed.
Just a little bit of work to be done. But Bernie, if you're tapping in one handed for a birdie, as it rattles home, that's a good feeling. The drive was the key on this hole. I got lucky downwind and had a really good chance at birdie from there.
You play the hole excellently and give yourself a great chance for an eagle. You even ran the putt by a little bit and gave it a good opportunity to go in. Nothing like a one-handed tap in for birdie to finish.
You'd make a hiccup on the last hole got a good score and hopefully did throughout your whole round.
